project at a glance

The transformation of Philadelphia's historic LOVE Park, also known as JFK Plaza, included removing hardscape pavers and stone, waterproofing and reinforcing the roofs of below-grade parking and train tracks, and subsequent redevelopment of landscaping, lighting, trees and seating, restoration of the LOVE sculpture, and installation of a modern, colorful fountain.

The resulting park is brighter, greener, and more accessible, with more open grassy space and rain gardens, and an LED-lit water feature as the back drop for Robert Indiana's frequently-photographed LOVE.

The project also included construction of a pump house for the fountain, a glass head house building at street level with a tie-in to the below-grade parking garage, construction of updated lobbies at all four subfloors, added payment kiosks, updated elevators, and more.
