project at a glance

The Sea-Tac International Airport C-1 Baggage Screening modernization program was a multi-phase, five-year project that involved providing commissioning services for the baggage delivery systems of 10 airlines.

Because of the nature of the work, a number of temporary systems were put in place to maintain airport operations. These included 12 temporary explosive detection system (EDS) machines in interim operations and 16 EDS machines in the final inline inspection operations, with remote viewing by the TSA to limit man power requirements.

Under an accelerated schedule, Turner successfully met several key milestones related to the holidays and other peak travel times, to deliver the project on time with minimal interruption to services.
