Unity Health Care’s Upper Cardozo Health Center, located in Ward 1 of Washington, D.C. was originally constructed in 1972; the facility is a concrete and masonry structure consisting of four stories above grade with a below grade level - housing mechanical and structured parking.

This facility underwent a six phase, occupied re-program and renovation of the interior space to facilitate a new out-patient medical center encompassing 64,000 square feet. Renovations feature sustainable design elements and extensive aesthetic upgrades that span the entire facility. Other work undertaken included hazmat abatement, demolition, extensive MEP upgrades, full HVAC and window replacement, new data/telephony systems, and exterior work.

The renovated facility houses revamped clinical space consisting of examination rooms, labs and support spaces that offer a full range of services to DC residents consisting of primary medical care, OB/GYN, behavioral medicine, social services, and dental services.
