One of the world’s largest privately-financed residential condominium complexes at the time of construction, Mei Foo Sun Chuen is composed of 99 apartment buildings of 20-stories each, with additional low-rise retail and commercial buildings.

The project houses approximately 75,000 people and was developed by real estate consultants at the Galbreath-Ruffin Corporation. Located on a 40-acre site at Lai Chi Kok in western Kowloon, Mei Foo is itself a complete city. In addition to the more than 13,000 apartment units, the project also includes 37,200 square meters of commercial space, more than 15,400 square meters of educational facilities and recreational areas, and more than 4,500  parking spaces.
