Inaugurated on October 31, 2010, the 68-story Bitexco Financial Tower is the tallest in the country at 262 meters, and comprises a total gross area of 93,500 square meters, including 38,000 square meters of office space and 11,000 square meters dedicated to retail. The project also boasts an observatory on the 47th floor offering panoramic views of the city, as well as a helicopter pad on the 50th floor.
The design team included Carlos Zapata Studio of New York, who based the concept for the tower on the lotus flower, Vietnam’s national symbol, and the Paris-based architecture firm, AREP, which specializes in urban development.
Developed by Bitexcoland, the property development arm of Binh Minh Import-Export Production and Trade Co., the tower furthers the city’s goal of becoming a Southeast Asian commercial and financial center.
