Turner’s projects provide the safest workplace possible for our employees, contractors, clients, and members of the communities in which we work everywhere, every day. We promote our safety culture through a program called “Building L.I.F.E.” (Living Injury Free Every Day) which guiding principles are:

  • All injuries are preventable
  • Performing a job only if it is safe to do so
  • Working safely is a condition of employment
  • Practicing safe behavior everywhere, every day

We expect that everyone is responsible and accountable for the safe performance of work. If someone sees something that is unsafe, or work is being performed in an unsafe manner, it is their responsibility to do everything they can to stop the activity. If they are not able to do so, it is their responsibility to immediately bring the situation to the attention of a person with authority to eliminate the danger.

The Building L.I.F.E. program seeks to increase frontline worker engagement in the safety and planning processes and focuses on upstream risk avoidance through engaging those closest to the risk in the decision making process.
