Turner gets $6M contract for Columbus Metropolitan Library projects

October 01, 2013

The Columbus Metropolitan Library trustees have approved the selection of Turner Construction Company as the construction manager at risk for 10 projects slated to cost $120 million through 2020.

The projects consist of relocation of six branch libraries and the renovation and expansion of four others, include the main library downtown.

The selection of Turner comes several months after the library board hired Pizzuti Cos. to serve as owner’s representative for the construction projects.

Separately, the board hired the DesignGroup architectural firm to lead the design of the planned Northern Lights branch library. Its design fee for that project is $607,600. Construction on that expansion project is slated to begin in mid-2014.
