Turner Awarded the Embassy of the Republic of South Africa Modernization

Turner Construction will provide preconstruction and construction services for the modernization of the 58,000 square foot South African Embassy in Washington DC.

The project will consolidate all chancery functions into one central location. The renovated buildings will permit the embassy to house all of its functions in one location, as well as provide a residence for the Ambassador. 

The project will also include installation of a curtainwall system to connect the embassy and the residence. This will create a public atrium.  Exerior includes restoration of the limestone facade, istallation of new windows and new slate roofing. Interior work includes replacement of building mechanical, electrical and life safety systems and upgraded finishes.
