Amway Center is Slam Dunk for LEED Gold Certification

April 13, 2011

The Amway Center in downtown Orlando was awarded LEED Gold Certification by the USGBC.

Turner served as the Program Manager on construction of the Orlando Magic’s home court. Sustainable design and construction methods that earned the facility a gold rating included elements such as water and energy savings, landfill waste diversion, utilizing recycled/regionally sourced materials and selecting an ideal, sustainable site for development.

Since the arena opened in October of 2010, it has created a buzz and provided a source of sports and nightlife entertainment for locals and tourists around the area. The 875,000 square foot facility is also shared by the Arena Football League’s Orlando Predators franchise.
