The Metro Vancouver HQ undertaking was a significant fit-out project covering 16 vacant floors across 263,000 sq. ft. in Burnaby's Metro Tower III. Our scope encompassed diverse areas, including several office floors and two specialized levels featuring an integrated boardroom with auditorium seating and cutting-edge audiovisual technology, an interconnected staircase, and a commercial-grade cafeteria, all designed with meticulous security provisions. Operating concurrently in distinct zones of a vast site, we tackled challenges like logistics, workforce management, and materials handling. Turner spearheaded preconstruction services, laying the groundwork for a streamlined 11-month construction phase, overseeing a network of 39 trades involving over 130 skilled individuals during peak construction. Our strategic organizational structure divided the field team into two units aligned with the building's design: the 'low-rise' team oversaw workspace levels 10-17, while the 'high-rise' team curated levels 21-29 with elevated finishes, encompassing the staircase and kitchen. This approach ensured focused supervision, contributing to the project's excellence, acknowledged by a Silver Award at the 2018 Vancouver Regional Construction Association (VRCA) Awards of Excellence.
