project at a glance

The three-floor, 28,000 square foot library features many custom installations such as interactive media walls and special purpose areas which include a Children’s Room and Teen Zone.  Additionally, the library features an amphitheater with bleacher-style seating that spans two floors leading to a 20’ wide screen which is comprised of 30 individual LED monitors.

To support these programming requirements, extensive mechanical, electrical, and plumbing installations and upgrades were required, including five Air Handling Units (AHU) totaling 48 tons of supplemental A/C, an emergency power system and an upright and concealed wet fire suppression system.  To accommodate these installations, structural modifications were made to the pre-existing space.  In addition, upgrades to the building’s core included the addition of six ADA compliant restrooms, and vertical transportation. To ensure the project’s successfully completion, Turner’s team closely coordinated its site activities with those of the base-building contractor.
