Dignity Health Mercy San Juan Patient Tower

Critical Hospital Expansion

The new patient tower is adjacent to the existing main tower of the hospital. The project entailed a new 142,601 sq. ft., six-floor, 110-bed, tower and 56,376 sq. ft. of remodeled area in the existing tower. The tower contains three 30-bed medical/surgical units, one shelled floor for a future nursing unit, two 10-bed critical care units, admitting department, pharmacy, chapel, main lobby, gift shop and a mechanical plant to serve this tower as well as space to expand to serve a future tower. There is also a 300-car parking structure. The remodeled area included an expansion of the kitchen area, material management areas, imaging, physician facilities, respiratory therapy, and a new conference area.
