Fifth Avenue Place Lobby Renovation

Updating One of Pittsburgh’s Most Iconic Spaces

This project included a 75,000 sq. ft. renovation on the 1st and 2nd floors of Fifth Avenue Place for Highmark Health. The space incorporated updated lobby areas, a coffee shop, and interior retail storefronts on the first floor, and the creation of the Highmark Conference Center and employee meeting space on the second floor, as well as all new finishes throughout the space. Additionally, elevator cab finish upgrades for 15 elevators, exterior pavers / landscaping, and replacement of the existing exterior granite was also included. A glass curtainwall with a new multistory VSI structural glass storefront, automatic revolving doors, and new glass vestibules were used to update the building’s entries. Construction occurred in phases, as there were active retail leases and active office spaces within the building while work was going on. The space was also accessible to the public during construction and needed to remain accessible in phases while maintaining security of the site.
