Lafayette College Skillman Library

Updating a Library Turner Originally Built

The project involved 77,000 sq. ft. of renovations and 29,000 sq. ft. of additions to the Skillman Library at Lafayette College. The new structural steel frame for the additions marries up to the existing concrete structure originally built by Turner in 1963. The exterior wall systems include masonry and glass curtainwall. Renovations to the existing facility included modernization of the finishes and new mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and sprinkler systems. Throughout construction, all work was performed in a phased manner to minimize the impact on the library operations.
