KHOU Studio Relocation

KHOU Studios Relocated to their New Home Following Houston's Costliest Hurricane

In the wake of one of the costliest weather events our city has ever witnessed, countless accounts of heroism, charity, and determination adorned the media landscape and shaped the culture of Houston. KHOU was there to capture these accounts while its own home was affected by the storm. The local media outlet’s employees were forced to evacuate their long-standing home on Allen Parkway as Hurricane Harvey sent five-feet of water rushing up the front steps and into the studio. For the next 18-months employees had to relocate to several other locations before bringing Turner onboard to build their new home.

The KHOU Studio relocation project was a 45,000 sq. ft. interior renovation and included demolition of existing office space and the subsequent build-back of a beautiful new local news affiliate studio along with office space, conference rooms, and open collaboration spaces.

I am grateful to have had the opportunity to build the KHOU studios, an experience that I will cherish for a long time to come.
