132,000 sq. ft.
The 132,000-sq. ft. Alabama A&M University Event Center and Arena was designed to host a variety of events and includes fixed and retractable seating for approximately 5,000 people. Portable flooring can be brought in for games and tournaments, and there is a full event kitchen to support other functions.
The lower level houses administrative offices; home team, visiting, and coach locker rooms; training and weight rooms; meeting rooms; storage; and support spaces. The concourse is connected to the event level by an interior and exterior monumental stair mirrored with glass curtainwall and contains multiple concession stands, event and marketing suites, as well as a Hall of Fame gathering space.
The building is spray fire-proofed steel frame with concrete floor slabs, a precast structure for the seating bowl, and metal stud walls. The exterior was constructed of brick, modular cast stone units, metal wall panels, storefront and curtainwall, and thermoplastic polyolefin (TPO) roof.
