John R. Oishei Children's Hospital

Pioneering Pediatric Excellence

As the sole standalone pediatric hospital in New York State and one of 43 such institutions across the country, the 12-floor hospital is equipped with specialized pediatric care, labor and delivery, and postpartum care facilities. It features a dedicated pediatric oncology unit in collaboration with the Roswell Park Cancer Institute, 185 beds, 7 operating rooms, three C-Section units, 30 emergency bays, 10 observation rooms, and 13 radiology rooms. The hospital is linked to the Buffalo General Medical Center via a two-story bridge, with the first level aligning the second floors of both buildings and being accessible to the public. The upper second level is aligned with the third floors of both buildings, facilitating the movement of patients, staff, and families.

Turner employed Lean principles during the project's execution.
