Princeton University Lewis Arts Complex

New 147,000 sq. ft. academic arts building complex for Princeton University

This project consisted of a 147,000 sq. ft. academic building complex for Princeton University. This project included 3 buildings that share a common reception area and public space. The 3 contemporary buildings include a music building featuring hanging acoustically isolated practice boxes, a dance and theater building featuring two performance theaters and multiple studios, and a 6-story arts tower housing classrooms and offices. All structures are connected via an expansive, 17,000 sq. ft. forum with a faceted, acoustic plaster ceiling. This grand lobby space rests below a 4,000 sq. ft. reflecting pool containing 12 oversize skylights that allow natural daylight into the space and provides views into the building’s four main performance spaces. This project also includes include an art gallery, black box theater, music rehearsal room, 200-seat lecture hall, Modern and Contemporary Art Museum, and an experimental media studio.
