Turner wins University of San Diego Ballpark Renovation and Expansion Project

August 16, 2011

Turner was selected to provide preconstruction services for the ballpark renovation and expansion project for the University of San Diego. The project is a replacement of the current ballpark on the USD campus and will be a park within the park concept utilizing the hillside for seating.

A grand entrance depicting the University's 16th century Spanish Renaissance architecture will provide a peek of the field featuring a concourse that wraps around a "sunken" seating bowl, concessions, team store, suites and bathrooms.

Nearly 1,600 seats will extend on either side of home plate and between dugouts, expandable to 3,000 or more seats for NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals. Other features include a kids area and an 8,000 to 12,000 square foot left field clubhouse building.
