Turner Receives Awards of Excellence from Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat

Turner was recognized for its work on The Spiral and Ziraat Towers and for its commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Turner Construction Company was recognized by the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat with Awards of Excellence for Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, for its work on The Spiral in New York City, and its work on Ziraat Towers in Istanbul, Türkiye.

The Spiral, which serves as Turner’s headquarters, was recipient of three Awards: Best Tall Building 300-399 meters, Best Tall Building Americas, and a Construction Award.

The Spiral is a 66-floor class-A office tower that offers 2.85 million square feet of connected and sustainable office space. Developed by Tishman Speyer Properties and designed by Bjarke Ingels Group, the building features a cascading series of landscaped terraces and hanging gardens. Tenants have access to outdoor terraces that ascend in a spiraling motion to create a unique, continuous green pathway that wraps around the façade of the tower.

During construction of The Spiral, Turner implemented lean construction practices and worked collaboratively in an “open room” field office. Innovative data-driven solutions to track materials and construction progress were used including RFID tags.

Ziraat Towers was also honored with an Award of Excellence in the Construction category. The 4.5 million square foot complex includes two high rise 46 and 40-story towers connected through a podium at the base and serves as the Headquarters for Ziraat Bank in Istanbul, Türkiye. The complex also contains a state-of-the-art auditorium. It is the centerpiece of the Istanbul International Finance Centre.

Turner receiving the inaugural Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion award recognizes Turner’s efforts to ensure people in the workplace feel welcome and can be at their best, be authentic, and are treated with dignity and respect. It also recognizes Turner's 2030 vision to reflect the diverse communities in which we build and to achieve equal representation at all levels of the company.
