project at a glance

Located within the Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, Pacific Seas Aquarium is home to 35,000 square feet of exhibit space in which visitors can encounter the wide variety of marine life native to the Pacific Rim.

The centerpiece of the project is a 260,000-gallon tank populated with species from the warm waters between Baja California and mainland Mexico--from green sea turtles to scalloped hammerhead sharks. And  an additional 65,000-gallon Puget Sound Community tank is home to marine life local to the Pacific Northwest.

The aquarium also includes marine science classroom space and an educational gallery focused on ocean conservation.
