project at a glance

Renovations and upgrades to Delta Terminal 4 at John F. Kennedy Airport provide necessary additional facilities for Delta's fleet and help the airline realize their goal of building a New York hub.

Work was divided into two pieces, Concourse B and Head House, simultaneously under construction by Lend Lease with whom Turner coordinated on a daily basis.

Work allowed Delta to move out of their aging, Terminal 3 facilities and improve the passenger experience. Concourse B includes a nine-gate extension, for which airside work included infrastructure upgrades as well as the relocation of two taxiways, apron paving, drainage system modifications, added fueling lines and hydrants, renovation of the original concourse, and construction of the Concourse B ramp.

Landside upgrades included modifications to the baggage handling systems and modifications and expansions to the security area.
