Turner Construction Company to Hold 17th Annual Company-wide Safety Stand-Down

This year is Turner’s 17th annual company-wide Safety Stand-Down. A Safety Stand-Down is a time when we take a break from our daily tasks to gather in a safe place, a place that is physically safe as well as a place that is safe to speak up. The event launches Safety Week activities with the theme of “Be Safe, Accountable, and Relentless.” We will discuss what it means to be fully engaged in the safety and wellbeing of people and the importance of being relentless in establishing a safe work environment. We will also discuss operational safety planning; asking every person, every day to keep themselves and others safe and healthy by taking the time to plan their activities and look for ways to reduce and eliminate risk.

During Safety Week, we will reinforce the importance of actively caring for each other, as well as remind people that they must speak up when they see or hear something that does not reflect our values of inclusiveness, safety and respect. Turner’s mission is to develop a culture where all people feel that they are part of something extraordinary by managing risk, creating a safe environment, and demonstrating the highest standard of care for each other.
