Leadership Changes in the Bay Area

Leadership Changes in the Bay Area

We are pleased to share that Merrill Bowers has been promoted to vice president and operations manager of the San Francisco Bay Area, and Steve Rule has been promoted to deputy operations manager.

Merrill joined Turner's office in Nashville in 2002 as a carpenter, self-performing concrete work at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Later that year he was promoted to project superintendent and in 2004 he was named project manager. In 2006, he was promoted to senior project manager, and four years later was promoted to project executive. He transferred to the Carolinas in 2015 for an assignment as an account executive. In 2016 he was promoted to project executive, and transferred from Charlotte to Northern California to work on the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center. The following year he was promoted to vice president and construction executive, his most recent role.

Steve joined Turner as a field engineer in Southern California in 1983, also serving as an assistant superintendent before transferring to the cost department in 1986. In 1988, he returned to the field, serving as an engineer on the LAX Terminal 2 project where he was promoted to project engineer.  At the project's completion in 1989 he transferred to the Bay Area, where he served as a project superintendent and project engineer until his promotion and transfer to business development in 1997. After a hiatus between 2000 and 2003, Steve returned to the San Francisco office as a senior project manager. He was promoted to project executive in 2007, and construction executive for the Bay Area in 2013, his most recent role.
