Columbus Metropolitan Library, Main Library Transformation

project at a glance

The renovation of their historic Main Library was a showcase project for the Columbus Metropolitan Library's 2020 Vision Building Program, which includes construction, renovation, and expansion of multiple branch locations throughout the Columbus metropolitan area and surrounding suburbs.

Work on the Main Library included selective structural demolition of architectural elements and finishes on the interior of the building; replacement half the exterior precast marble wall panels with curtain wall to flood the space with natural light and create a more inviting and welcoming atmosphere for the public, and reconfiguration of the central monumental staircase and cantilevered stairs between the facility's second and third floors.
