project at a glance

The C4ISR Center for Excellence campus serves as the headquarters of the C4ISR division of the Army and supports their administrative functions, training, and research and development. Construction on this highly technical command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) campus started in early 2008.  Covering approximately 1,500,000 square feet, the campus includes nine buildings: administrative and headquarters facilities, laboratories, storage, and hi-tech training facilities.  The buildings’ primary exterior finish is composed of pre-cast concrete. SOM, in conjunction with Michael Baker, Jr. Inc. was Tompkins-Turner/ Grunley/ Kinsley’s design-build partner on this project.  The C4SIR Center for Excellence was built to LEED Silver Certification standards.
