Turner is providing construction management services for this 45,000 square foot project which consists of the renovations and additions to the former Stanwich School campus to convert it to a High School for Greenwich Country Day School. The job has four major components -- building addition, building renovation, sitework circulation / utilities and a wastewater treatment facility.
The addition component of the project includes science classrooms, science labs, a mechanical shop and the large open Commons room for presentations and studying. The renovation component took place over the Summer of 2019. With this renovation came a dining hall, servery, administrative offices, classrooms, collaboration areas, bathrooms, parlor, main lobby and staff work rooms.
This project had a very large sitework component. This included the construction of a full sized turf athletic field, large boulder slopes from blasted bedrock on site, roadway reconstruction and improvements, additional parking areas, walkways, utilities and site lighting. The final component was the wastewater treatment facility. This facility was constructed to handle all of the sanitary effluent on site. Once processed, the resulting greywater is then pumped back to the building to flush toilets.
