Lamond Recreation Center is a 14,750 square foot community recreation center and the first LEED Certified public building in the District of Columbia.

Sustainable features include storm water management, a vegetated green roof,  water efficient landscaping, water use reduction (low flow faucets/fixtures), increased energy efficiency, enhanced building commissioning, construction waste recycling, a bio-pond for water collection and many others.

Amenities include a gymnasium, fitness center, and a multipurpose room, meeting space, classrooms, an arts and crafts center, computer lab, pantry/kitchen, an outdoor walking trail, baseball field, volleyball court, tot-lot and on-site parking.
