New York

Henry C. Turner founded Turner Construction Company in the state of New York in 1902. From then on, Turner has had an undeniable influence on the construction industry. In 1904, Turner pioneered the practical use of what was then the newly developed reinforced concrete design concept. Turner demonstrated the capabilities of this construction method by building the station stairs for the New York City Subway system and the Robert Gair Building in New York in 1905, which was the largest reinforced concrete building in the United States at the time.

Locally, Turner has maintained its leading position in the construction industry. Our Business Unit is comprised of more than 1,000 construction professionals and offers the financial stability and resources of a national organization with the flexibility, responsiveness and commitment of a local firm.

Turner’s philosophy is to work tirelessly to help our clients realize successful projects. We work side-by-side with our clients and project stakeholders as their committed partners. Our staff has continued to learn and adapt to the demands of sophisticated technologies and highly specialized construction operations in a collaborative way to benefit our clients. We constantly challenge ourselves to maintain a deep understanding of our client’s goals and objectives.

At the heart of Turner’s business philosophy, we are dedicated to making a difference in the lives of our people, customers and communities. We take pride in our ability to align, unite and leverage our global resources to create opportunities for locals in the neighborhoods in which we build.

We are turn-key builders with a specialized interior division, offering services across all market sectors to match the needs of our clients ranging from small renovation projects to large scale, complex construction.
