Turner began working in the South Bay in the 1970's with projects at Stanford University and the NASA Ames Wind Tunnel. Recognizing that San Jose and Silicon Valley were becoming a leading economic center, Turner opened a full-service office in San Jose in 1986.
Since that time, Turner has constructed and expanded many of the South Bay's signature buildings. From world-class healthcare facilities to major public landmarks, Turner is recognized as the leading general contractor and construction manager in the area. Local projects include the San Jose Civic Center, which recently achieved LEED Platinum Certification from the United States Green Building Council, the San Jose Tech Museum, one of California's most popular destinations, and multiple projects with the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, the only regional hospital that will treat everyone regardless of ability to pay.
Turner's portfolio of projects include healthcare, K-12, higher education, residential, semiconductor wafer fab facilities, tenant improvements, seismic upgrades, and of course, commercial office buildings.
Small projects are also a core part of our business. Since 1985, Turner Interiors and Special Projects Division (SPD) has specialized in high-end tenant improvement projects in new and existing structures, as well as data centers, labs, clean rooms and seismic retrofit projects.
