Lazarus Department Store
Pittsburgh, PA

This project included the construction of a four-story, department store, which rests on a three-story underground parking garage. Turner constructed the garage for the Pittsburgh Economic and Industrial Development Corporation.

 

The building is located on the corner of Wood Street and Fifth Avenue in the central business district of downtown Pittsburgh. The store is approximately 260,000 sq. ft. It consists of structural steel frame, architectural precast, a curtainwall exterior and a modified bituminous roof. The interior construction consists of drywall partitions, wood carpet and tile flooring. Turner managed the contracts for vertical transportation, perimeter and loose fixturing.

 

This project received the 1999 AIA Georgia Design Award of Excellence.
