Turner is committed to supporting communities where we do business, improving education and embracing local volunteer programs. Among the organizations we support are Habitat for Humanity, Rebuilding Together, Toys for Tots, Youthforce 2020, ACE Mentoring, Turner’s Annual Charity Golf Tournament and our own Turner School of Construction Management training program for minority businesses.
The Turner School of Construction Management is a free course, taught by Turner volunteers, designed to help minority and women-owned business enterprises improve their managerial, technical and administrative skills. Topics include how to develop a business/financial plan and understand project estimation, construction law, bonding and insurance, safety and others.
This contractor and community outreach program has been acknowledged locally as the model for the City of San Diego, the Centre City Development Corporation, and the San Diego County Regional Airport Authority. Our goal is to collaborate with local firms, minority and women-owned businesses, and enterprises owned by Veterans and the disabled to help increase their economic viability through improved market visibility and technical skills.
