Turner began the YouthForce 2020 initiative in 1989 to reach out to K-12 students with a curriculum tailored towards the engineering and the building industry.

With a staff of more than 125 local employees, we are able to bring experience from the field to the schools. Our dedicated staff members guide students through their academic journeys while exposing them to obtainable goals in the construction industry. Turner's YouthForce 2020 is a program that encourages today’s youth to stay in school, further their education and consider the construction industry as a viable career path. Turner has partnered with local School Districts to offer mentorship programs and jobsite visits.

The objectives of the YouthForce 2020 include:

  • To encourage students to stay in school
  • To consider the construction industry as a viable career path
  • To provide needed guidance, direction and role models
  • To promote construction industry awareness
  • To develop a mentor/protégé program with the students
  • To promote diversity
