Turner Hits the Slopes with Burton's Chill Foundation

March 14, 2013

Turner has supported Burton’s Chill Foundation since 2006, when Turner’s Interiors group in New York completed a fit-out of Burton’s flagship store, sending volunteers to accompany busloads of 10- to 18-year-olds to the slopes of nearby mountains to snowboard.
Active in more than 1,000 cities around the world, the Chill Foundation uses board sports to teach life skills such as patience, responsibility, courage, and persistence, and help build self-esteem among underserved and at-risk youth.
This year, Chill NYC enrolled 90 students from 18 New York City schools, and organizations such as Girls, Inc. and provided them with everything they need to ride: transportation to the mountain, lift tickets, lessons, and head-to-toe gear.
