Turner's Florida Offices Celebrate 20th Anniversary of Turner School of Construction Management

This year, Turner Construction Company commemorates the firm’s 20th Year Anniversary of the Turner School of Construction Management program in the Florida area.
Turner has offered Turner School classes across Florida since 1993 and has graduated more than 1,800 small business owners from the program. The School helps
small businesses - particularly those that are woman- and minority-owned - develop their managerial, administrative and technical skills.The courses help participants win major contracts, including work with Turner, and build a network of their peers, which can lead to fruitful joint venture and association partnerships.
Since the program’s establishment in 1969, there have been 34,000 graduates of the Turner School program across the nation and it has helped Turner build successful long-term relationships with minority – and women – owned business enterprises (MWBEs), generating more than 62,000 contracts with a value of $21.1 billion in volume.

The 20 year milestone will be celebrated throughout 2013. Turner plans to host Turner School courses in Boca Raton and Orlando during the first half of 2013.
Turner has entered into associations with graduates of the Turner School of Construction Management on major projects throughout the State of Florida. Some of the notable projects include the Duval County Courthouse (Jacksonville, Fl), Miami Intermodal Center (Miami, Fl), Miami Dade College Culinary Arts Institute (Miami, Fl), Orlando VA Medical Center (Orlando, Fl), Broward County Public Schools (Miramar, Fl), Osceola County High School and Middle School (Osceola, Florida), Broward County Public Schools (Coral Springs, Florida), Florida International University's PG5 Market Station (Miami, Fl), the Culture and Society Building at Florida Atlantic University (Boca Raton, Fl) and more. By establishing joint venture partnerships/associations and utilizing supplier and prime contractors, Turner fulfills its ongoing commitment to providing opportunities for M/WBE firms.
