October 17, 2011

New York, N.Y., October 17, 2011 – Turner has begun work on the Whitney Museum of American Art’s new location at the southern end of the High Line park in lower Manhattan.

The more than 200,000 square foot design is double the size of the Whitney’s original, uptown location and includes an 18,000 square foot gallery, which will be the largest column-free gallery in the city. The new museum will also include a conservation lab and art-handling spaces, a restaurant and museum shop, indoor and outdoor special events spaces and an auditorium.
