Turner provided construction services for a six-story, 129,000 sq. ft. office tower, which includes a four-level underground parking garage. Adjacent to the office tower is an 82,000 sq. ft. conference center with a dozen conference rooms and a 1,200-seat auditorium. The conference rooms were fit for audio-visual teleconferencing and included a full-service TV studio.
Complete tenant fit-out of office space and the conference center included the following: systems furniture, movable file storage, signage, audio visual equipment, auditorium seating and curtains, kitchen and cafeteria equipment, window washing equipment and banquet seating.
The William H. Natcher Building design is a unique curved structure with the adjacent Conference Center set on a pie-slice shaped footprint. Both buildings are precast and curtainwall facade. Surface parking and landscaping were also included in the scope of work. Several Craftsmaship Awards were earned from the Washington Building Congress for specific trades on this project, and the concrete work was featured in an Engineering News-Record article.
