Turner served as the construction manager on the Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai, U.A.E. The project was developed by Nakheel Properties and combines retail, entertainment, restaurant and family activities, all within a uniquely themed environment.
The single-story mall was designed around the concept of the various countries visited by the famous Arabian traveler, Ibn Battuta. The mall houses five country-themed shopping areas represented by a variety of architectural styles to imitate Battuta's travels through Andalusia, Tunisia, Egypt, Persia, India and China
The mall opened in Spring 2005 and houses as many as 300 stores, a food court, a movie complex with 21 screens and an Imax theatre. The mall will offer a blend of local and international shops and will also provide parking for 500 cars.
