
The 84,000 sq. ft. Ford Motor Company Engineering Design Center houses laboratories, classrooms, and offices for the Northwestern University McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science. The building consists of two stories below grade and five stories above grade and is constructed of cast-in-place concrete with a limestone and glass exterior wall and TPO roof. Notable interior features include a 4-story atrium with skylights, a glass plank grand ornamental stair and walkway system, a raised access floor for air distribution, a 2-story high glass-walled manufacturing display space with obvservation deck, and a state-of-the-art 66-seat engineering classroom.
