LEED® Certified
The Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center's Public Health Sciences division houses the nation's first and largest program devoted to cancer prevention research.
This project is a five-story, 372,000 sq. ft. office building that serves the biostatistial, epidemiological, and prevention research conducted at the Center. The facility also includes 20,000 sq. ft. of lab space. The exterior is an exciting but challenging combination of brick panels, glass and metal panels. The interior features a sophisticated helical stair in a full height atrium that not only connects one floor to another but acts as a bridge from one side of the building to the other. A skylight system tops the atrium allowing all the rooms facing the atrium to be filling with ambient light.
The project was LEED® certified in February, 2005.
