Natural Resources Defense Council
Washington, DC

Turner provided preconstruction and general contracting services for the interior build out of a newly constructed building for the Natural Resources Defense Council. In addition to building out this 20,000 sq. ft. office space, we assisted with extensive product research, constructability, economic impact analysis, and code compliance. Sustainable design and construction was a driving focus of this project.

The use of "green" building products – those products which are resource efficient, recycled, less toxic, exhibit exceptional performance and are cost effective – was an important aspect of the "greening" effort. The project also included extensive energy efficient strategies such as optimization of natural day lighting and use of efficient mechanical and electrical lighting technologies.
