The Biosecurity Research Institute is a 113,000 square foot food safety and biological containment research facility on the Kansas State University campus. This facility provides BSL-3Ag and BSL-3E primary and BSL-2 support laboratories for researchers developing methods to protect the U.S. population from natural, accidental or intentional outbreaks of high consequence agents that may impact the agricultural infrastructure or food supply.

The building is a mixture of administrative, laboratory and containment spaces, featuring the latest technologies and construction methods. The superstructure of the building is mostly cast-in-place concrete with a precast/stone/architectural sheet metal envelope.
