project at a glance

The Midfield Satellite Concourse (MSC) North project is a design-build, multi-level concourse that includes three main components: a Gateway addition for passenger access to the MSC from the New Bradley West Terminal, a Passenger Access Tunnel which connects passengers from the Gateway to the Grand Hall of the MSC, and the MSC terminal and connecting Concourse with 12 swing gates. In addition to the 700,000 square foot facility, the project scope includes 90,000 square feet of tunnels for utility and passenger walkways, along with aircraft parking aprons, new service roads, taxiways/taxi lanes and utilities all location on 60-acres of land located in the central area of the airfield, west of Tom Bradley International Terminal (TBIT).

The MSC will not increase the total number of passengers or aircraft at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), but will allow greater flexibility in scheduling improvements at other facilities without disrupting day-to-day airline operations, reduce reliance on remote gates, and ensure a high level of service for LAX passengers during modernization upgrades that are part of the larger LAX Master Plan implementation.
