The United States Army Corps of Engineers' 745,000 square foot Martin Army Community Hospital replacement at Fort Benning in Columbus will include 70 in-patient beds and will provide medical care to active military personnel, retirees and their families. Work will also include the construction of two parking facilities to for a total of 2000 spaces.
Fort Benning Hospital is part of the Base Realignment and Closure program and will seek LEED Silver Certification from the United States Green Building Council upon completion. Green features will include a vegetative roof, energy-efficient lighting systems and views of nature.
