Ashburn Data Center is a 74,000 square foot facility built in multiple phases. The infrastructure of this project represents a 2N design redundancy, including six 2MW generators, two 10MV transformers, dual fed redundant medium voltage switchgear, six dual fed medium/low voltage unit substations, four dual fed redundant UPS systems.  In addition to the complex electrical systems installed, a total of 3000 tons of cooling capacity was installed in a water-cooled configuration.  This work had to be performed in an active data center environment, which required extensive pre-planning and coordination on the part of the project team.
