Tornillo, the Guadalupe Land Port of Entry is a six-lane border-crossing facility capable of serving vehicular, pedestrian and commercial traffic. The facility will segregate and route commercial traffic and private vehicles through separate and dedicated inspection lanes as well as accommodate pedestrian traffic. The ten on-site buildings include a main office facility, kennel, import and eport facilities, commercial vehicle inspection, public restrooms and offices for the FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and  the State of Texas Alcohol Beverage Commission (TABC). The site will also include its own waste water treatment plant and helipad.

The project will include building-integrated photovoltaic solar systems, high efficiency HVAC systems, LED lighting, and advanced metering systems and help it achieve LEED Silver certification.
