Owens-Illinois Bottling Plant

project at a glance

Owens-Illinois Bottling Plant is a 450,000 square foot glass container manufacturing facility.  Work included design and construction of all site, facility and process support systems along with management of owner installation contracts for all of the processes. The project included conventional steel construction for two oxygen fuel furnaces with four twelve-quad bottling machines. Inspection and packaging equipment along with warehousing operations were contained within pre-engineered metal buildings attached to the conventional steel structures.  Other buildings including systems rooms, mold machine repair, general stores and administration will provide support for the facility.  A 170’ tall batch house will also be constructed for raw material storage and mixing.

The facility manufactures approximately one billion bottles a year for the Anheuser-Busch Brewery.
