Heidtman Steel - Cleveland

project at a glance

SPBI, a subsidiary of Lathrop, provided design-build construction services for this 273,370 square foot pre-engineered metal building constructed in Cleveland Ohio. The building houses a pickling line, two slitter lines, coiled steel storage areas, and ancillary support areas.  35-ton cranes are located throughout the facility.  Included also is attached office space totaling approximately 9,200 square feet.

SPBI/Lathrop self-performed all concrete foundation work while the owner self-performed the process installation.  In adherence with our corporate goals, there was a 20% MBE/WBE subcontractor participation on this project.

SPBI and Heidtman’s relationship dates back to the 1960’s when SPBI constructed the first of numerous facilities for this family owned organization.  Since that time, we have constructed facilities for Heidtman in Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana.
