Turner Honored For Environmental Leadership At Green Cross Millennium Awards In Los Angeles
Los Angeles, Calif., May 1, 2006 – Turner Construction Company recently received a Green Cross Millennium Award for Corporate Environmental Leadership at the Global Green USA 10th Anniversary awards ceremony in Los Angeles, Calif.
Tom Leppert, chairman and CEO of The Turner Corporation, accepted the award at the ceremony last Saturday, April 1, at the Beverly Hills Hotel. “We are truly honored by this recognition and applaud Global Green USA for their efforts to bring Green building and sustainable construction into the limelight,” said Leppert.
Global Green USA hosts the Millennium Awards each spring to honor individuals and organizations who strive toward a safer, more sustainable world with the goal of inspiring others to follow the honorees’ examples. Past Millennium Award recipients include Leonardo DiCaprio, Ted Turner, Joan Bavaria, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and many more exceptional leaders.
“We intend to partner with Global Green by hosting a joint conference about ‘greening the schools’ in Los Angeles this summer,” explained Leppert. “Turner has a large presence in the state of California and is anxious to share some of the health and wellness benefits associated with building Green with key decision makers at this conference.”
