Turner Construction Company’s Chicago Office Announces Key Promotions

 

Chicago, Ill — May 1, 2003    Peter J. Davoren, president of Turner Construction Company, announced several promotions for the Chicago business unit.  John A. DiCiurcio was named executive vice president of Turner Construction Company.  Stephen W. Fort was named vice president and business manager and Jeffrey L. Loyall was named vice president and operations manager, both for the Chicago business unit.

 

John A. DiCiurcio was promoted to executive vice president with oversight responsibilities for the firm’s Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Kansas City, New Jersey and Pennsylvania business units.

 

DiCiurcio joined Turner's Cleveland office in 1979 as a field engineer. During ten years in Cleveland, he was involved with various projects in the field and estimating department. In 1990, DiCiurcio became manager of business development for the Chicago business unit, and in 1993, was named manager of Chicago’s suburban office in Arlington Heights.  DiCiurcio was named general manager of the Chicago business unit in early 1996 and later that year was promoted to vice president and general manager. In 2000, he was named senior vice president with added executive oversight of the Cleveland and Michigan business units, his most recent assignment.

 

DiCiurcio received a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from Rutgers University.

 

Stephen W. Fort has been promoted to vice president and business manager.  He reports to John DiCiurcio, executive vice president.

 

As business manager, Fort is responsible for overall leadership and management of all business activities in the Chicago business unit, including the Suburban and Interiors divisions, business development and preconstruction services.

 

Prior to joining Turner, Fort spent seven years as an officer in the United States Navy, Civil Engineer Corps, serving tours with the Navy Seabees, as project manager on the $300 million redevelopment of the Portsmouth Naval Hospital campus in Norfolk, Virginia and finally as aide to the Commander Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Atlantic
